Quick and Easy Do it Yourself Goat Milk Soap Recipes
Milk and honey always worked wonder in different types of recipes, starting from food to soap. When it comes to goat milk and honey soap, it has always remained one of my hot favorites.
Its divine smell and fantastic healing properties make it stand apart from other soaps. Loads of natural moisturizer, healing benefits and antibacterial properties make it even more healthy.
Once you make this, you wouldn’t want to touch a store brought soap or face wash again!
The soap brightens your skin tone, treats and heals acne and comes with anti-aging ingredients. The best part is these soaps come with a sweet fragrance and rejuvenate your skin naturally.
Spend less than 10 minutes to whip up an entire batch of these natural soaps. The preparation time can be a bit more but the “the actual soap making” part takes not more than 10 minutes.
Honey & Goat Milk Soap:
Soap Supplies You Need:
- Goat’s Milk Soap Base
- Silicone Honeycomb Mold
- Organic Raw Honey
- 4-Cup or a similar quantity of Pyrex Glass Measuring Cup
- Red & Yellow Soap Colorant (Optional, If you want to make it colorful)
This recipe makes about 9 honeycomb soaps or four large 4-ounce soaps with 1 lb of soap base.
Step 1 – Take goat milk soap base and cut small cubes out of it. Now, put them inside a 4-cup Pyrex measuring cup, and microwave for 20-30 seconds.
Step 2 – Keep stirring it and then microwave again for 20-30 seconds. Continue till all the soap melts. You may do this 30 second microwaving three times before the entire 1lb batch is completely melted.
Step 3 – Add 3 tablespoons of honey and a few drops of yellow soap colorant to the melted soap. You can add a dash of red color if you prefer a more golden hue.
Step 4 – Mix it all well and pour it into the silicone honeycomb mold. Let it cool down for about 2-3 hours or even more. Higher room temperature or higher humidity levels can increase the time take to set the soap.
Step 5 – Once you see that the soaps is firm, gently remove them from the silicon mold.
Lavender Goat Milk Soap recipe:
Soap Supplies You Need:
- Goats Milk Pour Soap Base & Glycerine Melt – 2 lb block (sufficient for 12 bars)
- Silicone Mold
- Lavender Essential Oil
- Liquid Soap Colors – (combine blue and red color to make soft lavender color)
- Empty Eye Dropper Bottles having lids – used to mix soap colors
- Dried Lavender Flowers (optional)
- Microwave Proof Measuring Cup w/ Spout
- Decorative tape, ribbon, burlap, and raffia (for decoration)
Using the above supplies will give you about 12 bars. Since many of the items in the soap making process are reusable, you will save quite some dollars once you start making them regularly.
Step 1 – The soap base will be large but soft and can be easily sliced with a simple kitchen knife. Slice it into small cubes and place them into the microwave safe measuring cup.
Step 2 – Melt the soap cubes in the microwave in 30-sec increments. Stir well in the gaps to make sure the soap gets completely melted. It may take 1 minute and 30 seconds for individual batches of soap cubes to melt 100%. I did the entire process with my pyrex measuring cup. It could only melt half of the soap at once, and I ended up 2 batches of soap cubes out of 2 lbs of the base.
Step 3 – Mix the red and blue colors to make purple color and add it into the pyrex cup.
Step 4 – Add 15-20 drops of lavender essential oil and mix well. Add dried lavender leaves for a better flavour.
Step 5 – Pout the soap mix into the silicone molds and let it stay for about 1-2 hours.
Step 6 – Gently take out the soap from the molds once firm.
Now I used pretty ribbons, burlap and raffia to wrap it up. It looked so pretty and completely giftable!!
